what is the fastest way to download things in China?

i have to send something, mostly large videos, to someone living in China. However, I have tried sending by MSN,email or some other chatting clients, also FTP to web storage but the speed is just unacceptable.

If i download some software and run a FTP server privately for her, will it work fast?

How do people usually send things to a country which has restrictions on internet? I don't want to make a DVD because DVD cannot be imported into China.

You can't really make it fast because they have really slow internet providers. Your best bet is to probably compress the file as much as you can before sending it. How big is the file?
 
Why don't you upload it to a file storage site and then have her download it on her end.
CAn you put it on a usb thumbdrive and send it to her,thos should be able to import them to china.
 
Don't forget: everything on the Internet in China is filtered, monitored, and censored, and they do have their famous "Great Firewall of China" to keep everything foreign within acceptable standards.

You can bet any video downloads will be carefully monitored for content and political acceptability, no matter where they're hosted. Free web hosting sites are routinely blocked.

Also, you can bet that any thumb drive or optical disc will be opened and checked by customs and the police for acceptable content. Which means, of course, that the girl will never get her files.

hi people, i have checked that most of the famous free file hosting are blocked in China except oron. I have tried this one, pretty fast, and my friends in China said it is not blocked. I don't think i will upload the file to Chinese file web hosting because it's just too slow. I'd like to buy an oron premium account for her to download the things. But I want to know if a premium account would help improve her downloading speed
 
The speed of download from private account is not determine by the server most of the time. it is the connection speed your friend in China, If she has a dial up, there is noway you can improve any speed for her, unless she have broadband connections.
