What is the meaning of a MemTest?

RAM doesn't last forever, eventually it will go bad. Personally I wouldn't mix RAM from two different companies because sometimes the voltages and timings may be slightly different and then you run into issues.

I have been running these SAME RAM sticks for 1 year without a problem. It wan't until my system crashed that I ran a MemTest and just found the problem.

Doesn't mean they can't go bad after just one year.

The RAM is probably damaged.

However, I tested the software on different RAM and the software is fine.
