OK, so what is the minimum frame rate you consider to be playable. For me I can't play at anything under 10 FPS. You all have hi end systems and probably have higher standards than me. This is not a pointless thread, but not an educational one. Its just for the curious mind at work.:D

20-30 sounds about right 60+ is ideal seeing as the human eye only sees about 60fps so you wont notice anything....(correct me as i might be wrong on this)

I thought it was 80....Man I'm a low player arnt I? That's my target minimum-10FPS. I'm happy with that. But yet on half life 2 i can play on max graphics and max resolution and still have a minimum of 10 FPS. That must be shocking to all of you that 10 FPS it tolerable. I guess when your like me you learn to compromise.

anything under 15 is annoying, though playable. I still shoot for higher than 15 FPS, though in some areas in oblivion it gets to the 10FPS area, though it's not often. It's kind of weird, I'll go through an area, and it will be a slideshow at like 8FPS, then I die, and when I load and walk through the exact same place it runs at ~15FPS+ I dunno, Oblivion is a strange behaving game at times.

i dont like anything under 90......35<
My god, you are spoiled. under 90?! your eye can't even distinguish 90 from 80! Oh well. I guess you get used to when you go tech, you never go back. Of course I never went tech.... Lucky.

I say anything above 20 is playable, but I prefer 30+. Some games though look better at a low fps, such as Halo which runs at a constant 30fps.

20fps is really my minimum. preferably over 30.
30, then it runs smooth,.. and at 60fps you have the 'wow, this run's awesome' effect (i dont know how else to call it,.. but i think you know what i mean :) )

My minimum is 25 fps.

Actually the human eye can't notice a difference when it's more than 43 FPS. Or something close to that.

None of you think 10FPS is playable?! geez I'm a slow mo! When I see 10FPS as minimum I jump for joy! my gosh you guys are hi end users! If you didn't have such a hi tech computer and you were like me would you still think such hi rates were necessary? I play F.E.A.R. On ALMOST max settings (with out anti-aliasing) and get a min of 10FPS and I absolutely go crazy with happiness!!!!

Why would you play it at maxed out settings when your only getting 10FPS? You should lower the settings to get at least 20.

When im trying to play CSS with only 10-15fps, the lag is to great and a sniper may shoot me before I have a chance to react.

I don't know, maybe I just am happy with a min of 10. my average is 20. usually when I have the FPS on the top right hand corner it says about 13-25, but then again, having that decreases the FPS anyway.

How do I OC my AGP? I wanted to do that for sooooo long now. I put Arctic silver 5 in it instead of the normal stuff to reduce heat. And it has to be free, I got no money....

20 is still quite playable with most systems/games. But honestly, it does depend on the game. And what kind of lag. Is it skipping/dropping frames, or is the whole game going in slow motion?
