You actually don't need the antistatic wristband. If you have it it would be good to use, but I've never used one and nothing bad has happened. Just go to NVidia's website and install the drivers to your computer. Then just shut down the computer and put the video card in. Once you start up the computer then run the exe driver file that you downloaded. Once that's done you just restart the computer.

If you aren't working in a concrete or wooden floor at least, you should wear the anti-static wristband.

I have never used an antistatic wrist band and have done 100's likely 1000's of hardware installs and have never damaged a piece of hardware. I will say I have never done an install on carpet in my socks, that would likely end up differntly. The only things to remember are to make sure you get a card that matchs your slot type, PCI to PCI or PCI-Express to PCI-Express (if aviable). Be sure to check your PSU and make sure it at least 300 watts or whatever your card of choice says it should be. Replacing a Dell PSU may be a little tricky since Dell tends to swap the location of the power switch and power plug on the outside of the unit. This will often require you to spend a few extra bucks on a special PSU made for Dell computers or cutting the back of your case. Some Dells also have a differnt pin out on the main motherboard connectors to make matters worse. You may need to also change the video card preference in the BIOS.

that's just bs...
I have assembled many pcs .... and all with out any antistaic wrist warp....
You just don't need it my dear...all you have to do while installing is to keep one of your hands firmly in contact with any metallic part of the pc cabinet/chassis and avoid wearing socks or sweaters(oh ya ehn i install cards I also maken sure that one of my feet are touchng the ground...just extra precaution....it's silly)....this will keep static off better than any wrist-warp.
Have a nice installation...
Hope it helps

none of my work has ever been done with a wristband. get into the habit of grounding yourself every minute or so and you won't have a single problem.

Open the case > stick the card in > plug it in (if needed) > close the case up

And you don't really need a anti-static wrist thing, I never use it and I build on carpet.
