What is this contraption?

=[ anyway would you consider that mobo a good mobo for a gamer? More specifically would it bottleneck an Nvidia 260?
btw its a: XFX MG-N780-ISH9 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

And I cant seem to work out the max ram speed it supports. Could someone please help me out?

On a separate note:
Consider motherboard X

it has 3 PCIE slots in this order:

X O X

X is PCIE 2.0
and O is PCIE 1.0

So how does this work if I want to have 2 card SLI?
If I say wanted 2 2.0 GFX's?
Id have to put one in X and one in O right?
Or each into X? (But then how would the bridge reach? )
So how does this work, having to put a 2.0 card into a 1.0?
 
i have the same mobo, i have used a few different heatsinks on it, and they all fit. there's more room on there than you think.
