Alright im looking to get a laptop instead of a desktop for so many reasons.

1. School work right now and for college
2. Want something that I can easily move around
3. I want to put it in my room and theres not much space
4. I do audio/video editing at school and its a hastle taking the project home to use other programs

So im looking at this HP laptop and it says "Inside Pentium Dual Core" then I see a different one that has a "Core 2 Duo" so now whats the difference? Like is the Pentium Dual Core the next stage processor after the P4? Like if anyone can shed some light upon my question would be greatly appreciated.

The TXXX series is the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo families, but Intel must be building on the Pentium name. I saw the same thing myself today.

It's odd considering Intel claimed they've laid the Pentium name to rest now...

I know its very strange cause you see on system w/a core 2 duo then you see a pentium dual core, and the first thing i think is like its a core 2 duo, but then i also see some w/a pentium d so then i wonder is it a PD

yeah, intel is doing some pretty weird cra i dont know why they would do that, maybe to see if people buy it cus they know the name?

Penitum Dual Cores are entirely different to pentium d's.
Pentium Dual Cores came out is August 2008 so they are fairly new, and intel kept the release a bit quiet. we have these PDC's in our school computers. they fly, except they don't because the school server is crap. I'm gunna buy a PDC for my budget gaming computer.

heres a simple timeline: figure it out.
Pentium 4
Pentium D
Core Duo
Pentium Dual Core
Core 2 Duo
