What is this processor?

well I have an AMD 4400 64bit X2 and that displays:

AMD Hammer Family processor -
Model Unknown
2.21 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

The 4800 is 2.4 GHz so I am not sure.

ooh thanks,

I was confused when i saw it because i didnt know what the hell it was:D

Sorry if it sounded a dumb question.

Could be an OC'd Sempron. 2.6GHz isn't out of reach for that processor.

However that display is kind of odd. My Sempron says "Sempron" and it also recognizes the model #. Even overclocked it *should* at least recognize the core name...kind of odd.

I honestly don't know, jsut a guess from the URL. Maybe it was for a article on a comparision from the Semperon 3400+ to other CPU's, As far as I can tell the website isn't in english though.(Or Hebrew, which is the only other lauagne I understand, and a little bit of yiddish)

"We now have the new AMD Opteron (Hammer) 64-bit x86 CPUs shipping." http://www.tdl.com/~netex/cpu/cpu.html A little research goes along way. The name hammer was the code name similar to "Long Horn used for Vista" for the new line of Opteron server cpus. One 2.6ghz model just happens to be being looked at for a 2007 build the Opteron 185.

LOL. If there is any contact info just send him an email or what not.

Yep it isnt mine,But i was just courius to what it actualy was and you find out unless you ask;)

The tech docs right at AMD will give you that. You can look over info at most online vendors in most cases to which model(s) run at a certain speed. When selecting a cpu for a new build or upgrade the specs are looked over widely before making a selection.
