What Is This ?!?!??!

but but but but ................ the power , it should be great for gaming :( right ????????????????

idk from what I heard their for making games but not playing them I guess its so that the ppl making them get their work done lol

It's the way the card is built. I remember hearing someone here describe it like this: The CAD card is like a tractor while the gaming graphics card is like a Corvet, or something. The tractor has tons more power but you obviously wouldn't race with it, it's used for really hard agriculture stuff. The Corvet would absolutely own the tractor at a race, but it would be useless for doing those tasks the tractor was made for.

wow , ur really good , i totally understand that lol :D kudos

BUT U KNOW WHAT ......................... if my moms friend does get those cards, ILL SHOW YOU ALL MUAHAHAHAHAHHA

Forget running directX games on Quadro unless you like your graphics to be gourad shaded only and jerk across the screen.

In a 3D app like my Softimage XSI or Maya the Quadro would shift plain shaded preview 3D at lightning fast speeds. It's only got enough abilities to draw basic looking 3D.

After I've done the 3D modeling and animating using a Quadros raw basic 3D power, the rendering is done by the CPU in a very slow manner 20 - 60mins per frame.

The special effects CGI you see in films is all rendered by the CPU and Ram on its own believe it or not. all the graphics abilities and realism settings are in the Software and with the CPUs abilities to calculate anything it renders any effect at any light and shadow accuracy. It's slower than 3D games rendering but thats how we do it. To speed things up they add more server racks so theirs hundreds of CPUs sharing the rendering calculations. The Graphics card does no rendering.

The makers will build a new Direct X card like the Geforce Series 8 then sell the same card with diferent drivers and some hardware tweak that suit 3D aps and slap a larger price on it sometimes they sell a dual or quad GPU version. Most 3D animators like myself can get enough 3D performace using gamers cards and they work out faster per pound for games and 3D modeling, animation use.
