what is your 2 grand desktop

You have $2000 aus/usa to buy a new desktop, tower only, no mice, keyboards, screens or OS.
What parts would you buy, where you you blow most of it?
And its not, 'depends what you are going to do with it'. It is your $2000.
Oh and you are building your own, so parts, not dell blah blah blah.

pretty kick ass computer, i didnt add them up, might just be a bit over though
thinking about putting them together and selling them for people who want a good computer, but dont know how to put it together
 
There is loads of help on hw to build a computer on the internet do a google search and see what you get also there are loads of people who have built a computer on here aswell so just do a search i am sure some people here will help.

Mobo: Asus P5K-E $170 (1)
Case: Antec 900 $150 (1)
Video Card: Geforce 8800GTS crossfire ready $500 (2)
Hard Drive: seagate 500 gig $100 (1)
Power Supply: Thermaltake 800 watts $150 (1)
Memory: Corsair XMS2 DHX 2 gig $50 (2)
total: $1970 or lower depending on reatailer

but man it very easy to build computer systems, i am 13 years old and has built 6 systems so far, using expensive brand names including Asus, Abit, Geforce, etc.
well good luck on it, could prolly go for 2.5-3k on ebay.

XMS2 won't go for $50, is it CL5 or CL4? Q6700? Might as well step up to the new 45nm's. GTS 320/640 or 512MB G92? 320/640MB versions are outta date. For the price, get a 8800GT and SLi it and get better performance than a GTX... (Is that motherboard SLi capable anyways?)

Same thing. Turbocache and Hypermemory. Crossfire is ATI "SLiing".
