I made this multiple choice, so if you wish to count internet speeds at home, work, cell phone, etc., you can. The top portion is download speeds and the bottom is upload speeds.

To determine your speeds, go to www.speedtest.net and let the test complete.

my desktop download is less than 10mbs, its pathetic, and not likely to increase until 2019

I think there should be a scale that is smaller than 10mbps. A lot of people have speeds under the first threshold, and to be honest, a speed of 9.9mbps is a lot faster than 0.1mbps which people still get. That is a 99x difference, whereas your change of 10-50mbps is only 5x

s <= 0.1
0.1 <= s < 0.5 (5x)
0.5 <= s < 1.0 (2x)
1.0 <= s < 2.0 (2x)
2.0 <= s < 5.0 (2.5x)
5.0 <= s < 10.0 (2x)
10.0<= s < 25.0 (2.5x)
25.0 <= s < 50.0 (2x)
50 <= s < 100 (2x)
100 <= s < 500 (5x)
500 <= s < 1000 (2x)
s >= 1000

Why is that?
Because I live in Australia and I also live in an electorate which the current government does not favour so I will have to wait a lot longer than most people for the faster nbn to come to my area.

There was a limit of 10 options. The <10Mbps is pretty much for those without broadband and those with the cheapest of the cheap DSL connections.

If you look at the results, only one person voted for <10Mbps as well.

Eh, debatable. At least in 'murica, the FCC only classifies broadband as 25+ mbps now. I personally wouldn't notice a 10 mbps dip in my service so that tier seems somewhat irrelevant ;)
