What is your purpose of OverClocking?

Yeah, i remember you mentioning that a couple threads back. Unfortunately I had $70 bucks left over after bills, so I went with the "lesser" 3800 and some AS5. But seriously, what does any of this mean to an overclocker? Squat shit. lol :D

I really don't know why I OC'd...not much goes faster, I get a higher cpumark score but I had to raise voltage from 1.3v to 1.33v so my core temps are at around 55 each...I just reapplied thermal paste and reseated heatsink like 2 hours ago so I'll let it burn in before I decide to downclock..

if the voltage is increased when you OC'd would the voltage decrease when you decrease the cpu clock? which means less cpu heat?

I overclock just because it's like getting an upgraded processor for the same price. And to the people that try and say that you can't notice the difference, I say that I guarantee that I notice a difference between 2.0Ghz and 2.8Ghz (stable) on my 3000+.

i can tell the difference, and all i got to do is OC past 3ghz and im faster than a 6000+. I can tell a major difference between 2.8 and 3.27ghz, i got it to 3.4 but i could only tell little performance increase
