What just happened??!?!?

i am having a very serious problem with vista that just occured a moment or two ago.

first of all, the HDD which has my OS and other important files on it is 160 GB...and i HAD about 70ish free...

untill a moment ago, i got an error that there is no space left??? so i check, and it turns out i only have 1 MB left??? all my space just DISAPEARED?

WHAT DO I DO? i ran every virus program i have (defender, mcafee, adaware) and NOTHING but some spyware ?

The first thing (and only I can think of considering it's your primary partition) is to open up the case and make sure the cabling is secure and try replacing the cable also, otherwise you're looking at a complete HDD failure and it's time for a new drive. Post back and let me know how it goes.

Do you have CCleaner, if not get it. And then config it and run it. Sounds like you have a lot cache files that had dump in your system.

With Windows XP you were able to control the amount of space you wanted System Restore to use on your hard drive. I find no option like this in Vista. Why did Microsoft get rid of this good option that was available in XP?

The only option is to delete all the System Restore points except the most recent in Vista. I am running Vista Basic. Are there more options available in Vista Premium or Ultimate with System Restore?
