those are the only holes (the four bright lights i held it up to light) where the stock cooler went but i do not think the stock heatsink system will work in the case i am getting. thanks

um, what model dell is it out of?

because you do know that most dell motherboards from the last few years, with the exception of most XPSes, a) dont fit in a normal case or b) dont use normal fromt panel connectors

By the looks of it, it's an LGA775. But I can't see any mounting holes for a HSF.

I think Dell use their own whacked out coolin'...

its from an xps400. yes it is lga775
and yes i know it uses the stupid ribbon cable for the front panel connector.

My dimension uses one of those dell cases with the side air vents at the front, air goes in there - sucked in by a fan - then through a windtunnel thing over the massive CPU heatsink, and onto the motherboard.

seems very nonstandard

I'm not too sure on the MOBO. Better to post something in the MOBO section ;)

That case though, is good, yeah. It'll be big enough!

i wish there was an 8 or 7 instead of having to go 5 or 10. all well i am picking up a bunch of gadgets to put in those bays.
