Hello- I have a Micron 440 BX2 with a Seattle 2 P 11 440 BX ATX motherboard the memory is upgradeable to like 700 something mb and i plan on upping the memory eventually.I would like to install a dvd burner so i can burn all kind's of dvd's and ps1 games if possible can i do both with one burner? also should i get one that's divx compatible?there's one from a co. called Lacie or something like that and it's like $80.00 more than others i've seen, aside from being able to put silk screen quality labels on the dvd's is it worth the extra money? This divx,is it some kinda format that will be utilized by everybody eventually so maybe i should think ahead and get it? or would a cheaper one work just as well? Thankyouforyourtime

also i have a Diamond Stealth 111 S540 16MB 4x video card do i need to upgrade this if i get a dvd burner? other than the memory (currently 224 with 512 upgrade when i get burner) do i need to upgrade anything else? Thankyouforyourtime

You don't NEED to upgrade anything for the burner, but I would start looking into a newer computer sometime in the not too distant future. All divx is is a format that some avi files are converted into, another one is xvid (a little better). If it is a burner for your computer, there's no such thing as one that's "divx compatible", they all are. It's just reading information off a disk like any other one. In order to play avi files encoded with divx codec, you need a software program capable of playing them. I believe Windows Media Player 8 or 9 started giving divx support. Regardless you can find lots of free ones on the internet. You might run in to some difficulties with copying ps1 games, I'm sure they have some sort of copy protection, so you'll have to look more into that yourself.
