Definitely get something with an i7. 4GB of RAM is wayyy more than enough. GPU is basically all you should worry about now. obviously something dedicated, not integrated. "GTX..."(The series is going to based on your budget lol) I would recommend Nvidia. Nothing but good performance from every one I have owned. Why don't you just build a gaming desktop rig? Cheaper, performs way better for games too!
 
going from experience, Acer sucks balls. They have a bad build quality. Have had to disassemble 2 brand new ones within 2 weeks of purchase because of the screen ribbon slipping out of the connector.
