What Latency RAM?

I just ordered my barebone notebook and I'm not sure if I need 2.5 or 3 latency RAM? Anyone know?

Here is a link to what I ordered:

I'm debating between an AMD 3800+ or the 4200+, I would save $60 and loose 200Mhz, I spent just over 2K on the notebook with the add-ons. I'm going to start off with a 1GIG stick of Corsair and a 60G 7200RPM SATA HD and add anouther later in a RAID configuration and anouther stick of RAM.

Memory Latency

Less is faster ...so the 2.5 is the better way to go but to be honest there isn't a whole lot of difference.

CAS Latency is the delay, in clock cycles, between when the READ command is issued and when the data on the DQ pins is valid. Standard values for DDR memory are 2 and 2.5 clock cycles. Values of 3 and/or 1.5 clock cycles are available in some systems and are supported by some (but not all) RAMs.

I would go with the 3800+, its only an extra 200mhz, but if u have the money its up to u. :D

I was thinking the same thing. I'll have everything maxed out except the processor. I'll just have to save for an FX-60. I'm thinking with everything it's going to have it's going to be a great gaming notebook but it's not up and running yet. I picked up an optimized version of XP that takes out all the crap Microsoft installs. We'll see how it does, and yes I'm using my license number from my legal copy of XP.
