greetings,
i have a file extension that is for a program that goes with a MAC. i want to burn this program/file extension to a cd or dvd rom. what opens or burns it (if you understand what i am saying. i use nero but, have no idea as to "unraveling" the extension to burn it to to a working program)....the extension is .dmg

Do you have a macintosh? If I recall correctly, that format just extracts automatically with OSX. Once it's open, you should just be able to burn it.

If you don't have a macintosh...well, may I ask why you're working with mac "compressed" files? :P

thanks for the reply.......no mac here........what is "osx"?.......

hmmmm this is curiously suspect thread... ;)

..HOLD IT!..because i am asking questions for someone else or don't tell you my life story, you have to automatically label this a "suspect thread"?...get a life!...be curious all ya want!....statements like yours, although a question (such that it is), tends to berate the posting party to the average 3rd party reader, AND I DON"T LIKE IT NOR FEEL THAT IT IS WARRANTED!

...i asked a acceptable question as i have seen similar posts all over this forum of people asking about file extensions and you have to single mine out!??....

...i figured this out a few min ago anyway....if asking about a mac or a file extension for same is not permitted on this forum, then, advise all users that it is not permitted and supply an explanation for same...

...why don't i see you doing this for an ".exe" file or ".rar" file....i don't have to own a specific piece of computer equipment to ask a question here and i have not seen nor have read any "advisory" for same....what about those asking about such things in contemplation of a purchase?..

tell me what is wrong with my question and be specific!...i know you will not have much of an argument.

i know that format. I had it also. mine summed up to 3GB something. It was an ISO of a Mac OS (cant recall the version) but yeah it wont work though. You can google "converting .dmg to .iso" . I tried it but never manage to convert ,it always failed.

anyhows I'm still interested in seeing OSX on standard Pcs
