On boxing day i bought a wireless keyboard/ mouse, 22 inch acer LCD monitor, and altec lansing speakers and sub. I will be using my compaq presario 6330CA Case. I have a cd/dvd drive and floppy drive, case fans. Here are the parts i have picked out so far:
CPU/PSUhttp://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.146432
MOBO/RAMhttp://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.145748
TOTAL: $458.30 Without Rebates
With Rebates: $363.30
I am going to be using it for regular stuff like listening to music, msn, maybe photo editing (got camera for christmas) and some gaming. I need a harddrive, graphics card or anything else you would recommend. Please let me know what you think or any changes.

That mother board/RAM combo is awesome (& really cheap!), if you want to use SLI.

For your computer uses, I would recommend not getting SLI though.

this is a good cheap mobo:
Mo Bo: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard $120 - $15 rebate = $105

pick any DDR2 RAM = about $50 after rebates

CPU Intel® Boxed Core 2 Duo Processor E7300 $105

your PSU will depend on whether you want SLI and how powerful your graphics card is basically.

you'll also need a hard drive (I like western digital) and a graphics card (I just bought this: MSI N260GTX-T2D896 OC GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card $200 (it uses two 6 Pin power connectors so make sure you power supply has enough.).

if you bought 2 $100 graphics cards and put them in SLI, it would be no where as powerful as the one shown in the link above.

you'll also need this: BELKIN BE112234-10 10 feet 12 Outlets 4120 joule Surge Suppressor with Phone/Modem, RJ45 and Coax Protection to protect all your electronix!
