What processes don't I need?

From this picture, what processes can I get rid of? I am trying to play this game with less lag. I already don't use explorer.exe when I play but it is still slightly laggy. What can I get rid of?

Try using msconfig:

Start > Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes.

Go to services, check hide all microsft services and untick the remaining ones.

then go to startup and do the same.

You will need to hit apply and then reboot. I would also recommend using CCleaner to cleanup your system of winrot and use something like auslogics disk defrag to clean up the rest.

I ran CCleaner. I tried running defrag several times but my POS computer keeps freezing. There is no option for "hide microsoft services" in the Startup tab of MSCONFIG. Can I unclick all of them?
 
No you cannot, most are essential or will stop something from working. what version of windows with what service pack are you running? If you're on XP I'd recommend getting SP3 if you haven't already.
 
I'm on Vista running the latest update through Microsoft update thingy...

It keeps freezing while idle also, pissing me off. Freezing at idle and generally much worse performance than when new...
