Well i have a am2 motherboard, and am2+ is backwards compatible, i stuck between a triple core and dual core. I was gonna get a 6000 x2 but my friends got a triple core phenom and its really fast at only 2.1. Should i get like a 2.1 or 2.3ghz triple, or a 3.0ghz dual core.....

The 6000+ is better for gaming, but Tri-core would better in multi-tasking and muti-threaded applications

i'm at 3.0GHZ w/ my 5000 X2 BE... on a ECS Mobo... It's quick, and works for everygaem thats out there... remember games these days are GPU over CPU usage...

Depends on what price you can get them for... but I'd say go for the tri-core, they almost perform as good as Core2s clock-for-clock and beat the older Athlons by a sweet margin, and since games are more GPU bound the advantage of the better architecture almost makes up for the extra clockspeed of the Athlon, enough to make the performance difference insignificant (if there is any) - plus it comes with one extra core, which equals better potential and keeps the computer running a little longer.

It depends on what kinda triple core you are going to buy. The 6000+ and the 6400+ are very strong Dual cores, only the higher priced models can compete with the 6000+/6400+.
