I saw on Newegg that Corsair XMS & Dominator are perfect match for core i5 & i7, does it mean they aren't good for an AMD processor/mobo ?
What brand would be a good match for an AMD combo ?

Also is there a big difference between PC3 10666 & PC3 12800 ram ?

Any dual channel memory will work, so long as your memory controller can handle the speed of the memory and it is the correct type (DDR3 or DDR2). If you look in my sig, I'm running an AM3 board with Xorsair XMS3.

If you look on the egg though, I am fairly sure G.Skill ripjaws are still lower price than the same speed Corsair memory, and 1600MHz is a whole $1 more expensive than the 1333MHz ripjaws.

It is just marketing when they say "perfect for intel systems"

Alright, thanks for that.

Regarding CAS latency, is there really a big difference between 7 & 9 ? Is 7 worth the average extra $/€ 30 ?

no, you can set it lower yourself from 9 through your bios#, however the speed increase in programs othe than benchmarks is negligable, a few fps in games maybe, a few seconds in other programs, it really isn't all that much. If you have an extra $30, it is better being spent elsewhere in the system than getting memory with lower timings

Yes, you're better with lower voltage RAM. Most high performance branded modules will need over volting of some amount though.
