I have been using 1600x1200 since day 1...

I can not even use my computer on 1280x1024 becuase it is just soo weird to me... Everything looks massive!

I have a 17" CRT btw... Dell P780, got it for £35 two years ago.

1024x768. I can bump my LCD up to 1280x1024, but it seems to bother my eyes after a while. Though, oddly enough, I couldn't get Vista to run in 32bit video unless I was running at that high res... Plus, the majority of websites and such are made for 1024x768...

Because a 17-19" LCD has a native resolution of 1280x1024, so thats what almost everyone runs it at. Alot of people with 17" CRT's run at a mix of 1280x1024 and 1024x768.
oh right, thats not what you said earllier, or rather thats not what i understood you said earlier... i thought you were saying something about a resolution appearing differently on TFT's rather than CRT's, which is rubbish, but nevermind

i have a 21" CRT but i run it at 1024x768 because i was told thats a good resolution
you were told right, maybe for 2 years ago, but on a screen of that size you really should be running it a bit higher, say 1280x1024

i am using 1680X1050 on my widescreen monitor thats the max it will go.
What do you know... thats the same resolution my previous Dell Inspiron 15.4" LCD had :P

That shows how much higher Laptop LCD's are than desktop LCD's (on average).

ya thats wierd i wonder why and my screen is a 20 inch and your screen is a 15. 4 you would think your resolution would be smaller and mine would be higher.

1280x1024 on this Viewsonic, 1024x768 on the dell downstairs, getting a 20.1" Widescreen Viewsonic in a few months and will be using 1680x1050
