What Resolution are you running right now?

My maximum refresh rate at this resolution is 60 Hz according to the Catalyst Control Center.

I am using a standard Dell LCD monitor.

Pay no attention to LCD refresh rate. It is not an issue. LCDs do not refresh. The 60 number is strictly convention, means nothing.

I always wondered why LCDs even have 60 or 75 refresh rates.

It really makes no difference. LCD pixels are on or off, they stare, they are not scanned. They do not refresh. They have a response time, but you have no control over that. It's built in. Just ignore that refresh rate setting.
 
1280 x 1024, max resolution my dell lcd 19" will go, great for games and I'm used to that resolution, the icons are too big otherwise. Oh and 1280 x 800 on my macbook that came in the mail today.:P

That's weird... perhaps you should try that card in a different PC and see whether the problem is still there. If not, then it's your monitor...

You would have more desktop space and better quality images.
 
1280x1024
thats for desktop and all games that support it. if they don't support it normally i run them on 1152x864 because thats the next lowest. if my monitor supported 1600x1200 i would do that though. not that it really matters all that much 1280x1024 is pretty high.
 
I cant stand anything less than 1152*864... 1024*768 is just too pixely. And my parents say they cant see anything at 1280*1024. And all my games look and run great at 1152*864. Its the resolution for me until i get my own comp.
