What resolution

Hi All, I have the following specifications on my PC

P4 3.2 Prescott
Nvidia 6600 256mb
1024mb of ram


and am running my games on a Acer AL2671W HDTV 26" LCD. Now what resolution should I be able to get games like CS, battlefield 2142 at as when i alter the settings on CS for the tele always seems out scalled, as in either the images doesnt fully display. So basically what resoultion should I have it set on. Take it into accoutn the tele is wide screen.

You don't want to run those games at the monitors max resolution, because the hardware won't support it at decent framerates. Steam games let you choose between 4:3, 16:9, and 16:10 resolutions, so CS would allow you to play in virtually any setting, but im not sure about BF2142.
