I have this pc that i don't particularly enjoy. i bought it a few years back and im just getting tired of it. It makes loud noises in the middle of the night and most of the ports don't really work. here are the specs.

Quad-core AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition 3ghz
4GB Dual channel DDR 2 memory @ 2 GB x 2 matched set
Samsung HD with 888 gb
ATI Radeon HD 4870
Biostar Mainboard

my question is how much could I sell this for? and if I buy a new one, could I get something as good or better for around the same price? is it even worth it to do this?

thanks

Have you tried doing a fresh install of windows? What ports don't work? Where is the noise coming from? The noise should be easily fixed but you could have motherboard damage if ports don't work. What power supply was used?

If its making noise and some of the ports are not working, plus being alittle dated system. Your not going to get much as is. Especially not for the same price new parts would cost. Like above, need to find out whats wrong with it. Or just part it out, like the CPU/memory/video card. Biostar motherboards are hard to sell new, much less if it has ports not working. Go from there with money upgrading.

X-POWER pro 600w. The sound comes and goes. I have not found where it's coming from. some of the usb and headphone ports do not work.

Have they ever worked correctly? If not, then I would assume the case connections were not installed correctly. If you are talking about the usb and headphones ports on the actual motherboard instead of the case then you have a bad motherboard it seems.

By the way, the power supply is basically junk.

how much would a new pc cost me? one that is able to perform just as well, or little bit better, than this one?

Have the ports ever worked correctly? If not, then its a wiring issue. If they recently went out then its most likely a bad board. You could get a new motherboard that supports that cpu but will most likely need ddr3 memory.
