hey guys.my first post here.yea, wanna seek advice whether i should replace my graphic card with a agp nvidia 7600gs 256mbddr3 which can also be used on a pci-e system next time.the problem is my mobo is running on low 4x agp.im wondering if i upgrade, will i get higher fps?thanks.....please give me an ans asap.thanks again...

yes.7600gs have one which is both agp and pci-e compatible.im wondering whether my system will not bring the potential 7600 to use cause it is 4xagp....

like if i run 3dmark,will i see alot of difference?the tech guy told me that i will also experience faster loading of games.i play games like swat 4,nfs etc.i cant max out the the display during gameplay.

hmm never heard of a card that is compatible with both slots, ne ways, yea it should it just wont run at 8x speed but it wil run better than what u had, id say run the games however u can, but as soon as u can upgrade ur mobo to one with pci-e and ddr2

The 7600 chip can run on AGP and PCI-E I don't think he means that a card can run on two slots, its just there are AGP versions of the 7600 and PCI-E versions of the 7600 out there. Of course your next upgrade will most certainly be PCI-E and DDR2.

The time it takes your game to load depends on your RAM and your hard drive seek time, the FPS on the other hand is dependent on your CPU and to a greater extent your graphics card.

I've had a 7900GS and a 7900GT in the same rig and I could tell a slight difference. For example I could run Rainbow Six: Vegas at one screen resolution higher with the GT. If you bought through newegg the price difference would be about $50 so that's a consideration.

Of course there will be a difference man, the GS is short 4 pipelines and one vertex processor, if that doesn't impact on performance they we will ALL be getting budget cards. :P:P:P
