So im kind of at the stage i want to be... where i have my ideal computer. its not the best, but it does the job. haha

Cpu- Intel Q6600 G0
Mb- Gigabyte P31-DS3L
Ram- Generic 2x1Gb 800Mhz
Gfx- XFX 8800gt 512mb
Hd- Seagate 80Gb 8mb cache
Psu- Antec Earthwatts 500 watt

so now im wondering what i should get next?

i am wanting either a sound card or a new hard drive seeing as 80 gig is too small.

If i got a sound card id get either a Soundblaster Audigy or a Soundblaster Live.
nevermind the actual quality of the card. what are they like compared to each other?
please dont give me other card suggestions, because these are all that are available to me where i am.

and if i get a hard drive i will probably get a Seagate 250/320 gb one.

so what do you think id be better off getting?
and which of those sound cards are better?

thankyou :)

Get a new hard drive, if you get a SATAII w/16-32MB cache hard drive you may actually see a performance gain by upgrading to a larger HD.

haha alright then.

any clues as to which sound card would be better out of those 2?
ill get that after the hard drive.

Onboard sound is fine for most people, a larger hard drive is more important IMO.

yes well i am going to get the hard drive.

what brand? Seagate? thats who i tend to favour.

im thinking a 250gb 16mb cache.

but after i get the hard drive i would like to get a sound card too. would it only be worth getting if i get an x-fi extreme gamer? or what?

I'd get the 320GB w/16MB, it's not too expensive. They actually have a sale now for a 500GB SATAII w/16MB for $85 on Newegg.

As for the sound card, X-Fi's are overrated, look at some of the Asus line.

good idea, why am i only thinking creative? hahha

i dont need that much space, and i am currently in india.

ill aim for the 320 then

yeah i think ill give the sound card a miss for now. doesnt really seem necessary. is there anything else that i could use?

my vista score is 5.5 because of my ram hahahha

should i get some 1066mhz instead of 800 mhz?
would that get teh ram score to 5.9?
like dont worry about the price of 1066 and whether or not its worth it.. but would that fix it? or what about a 3rd gig of ram?
hahahh

I wouldn't buy 1066 RAM. If you feel comfortable you can do some manual overclocking and/or tweaking the timings to get the RAM score to 5.9.
