when it comes down to it you really need to tell us what you plan to do with it.
if you just use the internet and maybe a little audio conversion i suggest a cheap core 2 duo.
if you want the fastest build possible and you want to overclock it to be very fast, i suggest the Q9550 core 2 quad. of course, that one will set you back $340 when pretty much any other processor on the market will do what you need it to.. as long as it isnt a sempron or a celeron.
