Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
System Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group
System Model: TA790GX 128M
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X3 720 Processor (3 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4096MB RAM

I'm replacing my keyboard, mouse, and computer case and was wondering what else I might wanna replace while I'm at it. I have a somewhat limited budget so only those I need to replace desperately please!!

Yeah, a list of the games you plan to play would be nice.

It looks like your motherboard is an AM3/AM2+ Biostar TA790GXE 128M, although I'm no expert. If that is your board, you can go all the way up to the Phenom 2 line, which would be nice.

Your weakest link right now looks to be your video card, so that would be priority #1. After the video card, the processor would be the next to be upgraded, although that may not be necessary depending on the games you'll be playing. Finally, you could upgrade your memory by bumping from 4GB up to 8GB. It is remotely possible but unlikely that memory may actually be a more desirable upgrade than your processor, due to certain games using more than 4GB.

That about sums it up.

i would first see if the mobo has an unlocking function and see if you can get the 4th core out since i think they do that. otherwise i'd grab a 4gb stick or ram from newegg. otherwise since you said you are on a budget the only other thing i think might be good would be to go crossfire and add a second 5770, keep in mind though that both cards default to the slower setting so if your card is preoverclocked or something and the other isn't both will run at the stock speed of the non-overclocked one.

I think I may just add another 4gb of ram and a Radeon 6770 from what you're saying, could I support a 6770? BUT, I'm not sure an upgrade in a video card would be worth it considering that I don't really play an graphic intensive FPS's and to be honest I only see myself playing DoTA2, Diablo 3, and maybe GW2/SWTOR in the next year or two... Also, how can I tell what type of RAM my current RAM cards are compatible with?

While we're on the subject, is this an ok monitor? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009256

for the video card you have to get a second 5770 and a psu capable of running 2. you can't cross a 5770 with a 6770 and if you wanted to replace it with the 6770 then that's a complete waste, they are litterally the same card with slightly different software, the 6770 just supports like the next newest something but it's not going to actually give you any difference, i think it had something to do with videos, not games. for the ram it doesn't really matter, as long as the mobo supports it it should be fine, but it is best to find some with the same mhz and cas latency cuz i think if they are different it disables dual channel.

and for the monitor, this is bigger and higher resolution too

Thank you so much for all the help, I ended up deciding from what you said to not get a new GFX or crossfire them since I would need a new psu and everything. I did get that monitor, and as far as hardware goes I just got 2x2gb more ddr2 RAM and a new case.

I have one last question, when I transfer all the hardware to the new case what order should I remove the stuff in, and what order should I add it into the new case in? When I built this computer that was one of my problems XD...
