What size motherboard.

I am trying to upgrade and old Dell desktop. What form factor motherboard do i need. I ordered a micro-atx as i thought that would work. however it is too tall (the motherboard). what type of motherboard do I need to fit in this case. thank you.

It's hard to say if a micro ATX board won't work... They have mini and nano ITX's, but most(if not all) only use VIA processors.

My only suggestion would be to measure the Dell board and compare it to other micro ATX board... I beleive newegg posts the sizes of their board.

thanks for the info. i have found that Intel boards come in Flex ATX which i have found to be smaller.

it's a dell, probably propriety.
