Hi

Im just wondering what the Aux temp is in speedfan as my cpu temp was 48c and my aux was 50c usually Aux is lower than the cpu temp, but sonce i turned the cpu fan down to the lowest speed, the aux temp has risen above the cpu temp  as soon as i turned it back up to full speed which is soooooooo damn noisy, sounds like someone is using a hair dryer in there  , the Aux temp went right down to 40c, so im just wondering as it was just the cpu fan i turned up could it be they have (speedfan) have got the cpu and aux temps the wrong way round?, oh and by the way this is my cpu fan http://www.extrememhz.com/dstorm-p1.shtml its the coolermaster dual storm im not sure if its sposed to be used for the cpu or just a normal case fan, let me know if im wrong, cheers

Believe its your ambient temperature of your case, some motherbaords have different names in speedfan for that temp.

Yeh i thought the same but why would the aux temp go down so drastically if all i did was turn up the cpu fan as its blowing directly onto cpu not into the case?

alright fair enough, ok what about the other question i asked about the fan, is it the right one for a cpu? and btw i posted this topic in the wrong section sorry shoulda been in cpu cooling etc.

It is a fan for the CPU, but as its 80mm im sure it could be used as a case fan. The dual storm does not come with a heatsink so im presuming its like an add-on or upgrade to an existing "stock" fan.
