To be honest, that's "not WAAAYYY too high". I would say a tad high, though. Just get a 80mm fan, blowing air at the heatsink on the chipset. That does the trick.

Buying big chipset coolers can get in the way of your CPU cooler, or prevent you from having a SLI/Crossfire setup, and are only needed for heavy overclockers.
