What To Get For New i7?

Ok some Im going to start with a i7 920.


I have a Sapphire HD 4870 512mb and I love it. My last card was a Nvidia 8800 GT and I hated that thing. So what is a good card for around $180? I would like to have at least 700mb for the Memory on the card.



Also what MB, PSU, RAM, Etc, Etc should I get. Budget around $1000 "ish"
 
Well, for your GPU budget, you'll be hard pressed to make a significant increase in performance that'd actually make it worth the cash. I'd normally recommend the 1GB version of the 4870, but seeing as how you already have one, maybe CF another one? (make sure its a 512MB too, otherwise you're just wasting money on the 1GB)
 
I kinda feel like 512mb is falling out. I feel like I need at least 1GB nowadays.


I heard something about a HD 4890?

You should be fine with 512MB, but if you just have to have 1GB that's (obviously) fine.

And yeah... the 4890 isn't out yet, but the rumors are saying it'll be something like a super-charged 4870.

Well if you need everything I would simply SLI the 2 4870. Your not gonna get much better for that budget.

You might get away with it if you have rom/hdd/case for the build all ready.


Beats buying a 4870 1GB for more then another 4870. Just my opinion though.
