'What U Hear'

I once had a creative soundcard that had 'What U Hear' as one of the recording options. That soundcard stopped working and now I'm just using the integrated. In summary im trying to do some guitar recording and I want that What U Hear option, does anyone know of a program I can download or something that can do this? I'm trying to find a way to do it without buying a new soundcard.

Audacity does, it is a good freeware recorder, but does have a bit of a learning curve.

also if you use Windows 7, it can record what you hear, but has limitations to file format, and pretty basic.
