What version of Avast should I get?

I tried to get the latest version from their website. They said it couldn't install.. presumably because of my operating system.

I have Windows XP MCE 2002.
 
Upgrade to SP3 if you haven't already. Avast should install then. You won't find many free programs that still support XP.
 
Can I upgrade without having to reload an operating system? My DVD-RW isn't working to load any .iso discs.

Can I just download something for free online and upgrade that way?

Are there ANY antivirus that run on Windows XP?

Avast did fine when I had my XP computer. Like everyone said, upgrade to SP3 then install Avast, should work fine.
