What video card can you recommend fot this pc?

i want to buy a new Video card, but i dont know what one i have to buy.
my new mobo is a msi k7t pro2, fsb 100MHz, cpu = AMD 1400+ (1000 MHz) and 2x 512 Mb SD-RAM (PC-133). ok, im pretty shure that some of u will laugh right now .

but what fx-card would fit the best to this PC?

ati radeon 9550. its comparable to the cpu i guess. and its dirt cheap.

Radeon 9600 Pro or 9600 AIW (for fun). The 9600 Pro should still be relatively cheap but you'd have to look for yourself.

P.S. Just checked. The 9600 looks around 80-100$ and the AIW is 140-160$

The only GFX card I can reccomend is the 5700 (ideally the 5700U but thats outside of relative budget constraints). The 9600Pro is prolly the better matched card for that system

SWISH! Just kidding, I always loved the 9600 though, always seemed to work with almost any system.

Well its not just a matter of "working" its also important to not unneccessarily bottleneck a setup (i.e., if i were to pack a 9600 in my box that would be um... bad)

as you can c, it supports agp 4x.

but would a fx5200 (128 mb - better like this? ) be a good buy for my Pc (thats a cad i can but for 45 euries )

uh....mighty typo? an FX5200 is ok if yuo don't run the new and the slightly aging games at full detail (aka run them at low)

LOL, better off with a 5500 (which is 5200 based). Or even a 5700LE which is comparable in price

ok.. but, i can but a fx5200 for 40 euries. so that would be about $ 50. all other cards cost $ 20 more. so is there a real big difference between them, so its worth the extra monney? an, is it even worth putting that amound of monney into my pc?

I personally wouldn't waste my time with the nvidia fx series, they are all trash cards. If you must get an old video card stick with an ATI Radeon card of the same price they were the better cards back then.
