Hey guys, im really new to the whole "build your own computer/upgrade" scene. Wondering if you could help me out.

At the moment i'm running a Nvidia GeFore GT 520 video card running at 1gb, 64bit on a 'HP Pavilion p6-2055a' computer.

What upgrades are possible with this machine and am I also able to upgrade the ram from 4gb? Any help is good help

Thanks, Detzel.

That system only has a 300 watt power supply. You can upgrade the video but you would have to get a better power supply as well. And you can upgrade to a maximum of 8gb(2 sticks of 4gb each) of memory. The only thing to be concerned about would be if you have enough room in the case to fit a good video card.

Yeah the size of the video card is whats worrying me to be honest. I know i will need a new power supply, looking at a 650w purely for the fact it will last for newer comps i build. Thanks for the heads up on the RAM btw.

I will probably have to get the case checked out to see what video cards can fit :)

Most websites have the dimensions of the card on the page. Look at www.newegg.com, they usually have them. I know you're in australia, but if the site you're ordering from doesn't have the specs, just look up the card on a different website.

What's the rest of your system like?
