What Video Card?

Well, my computer just took a major crap (XP3000 on ASUS m/b) I would scroll up in say IE and there would be static in the speakers, then it would get worse and restart the computer. Plus, if I clicked on some links, it would start to load in a seperate window, then give an error and crash the IE. So I pretty much think it's the m/b since I just installed windows last week after repeadatly seeing the blue screen of death.
So anyways, I just ordered ASUS A8R-MVP Socket 939 ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 CrossFire ATX AMD CrossFire Motherboard and AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3800BPBOX
What video card for about $250 do you think? I prefer NVidia because of the drivers and software you have to install for ATI.

The mobo is desinged for Crossfire (2 ATI video cards, nVidia uses SLI) but you can still run a single nVidia card not in SLI though.

Oh, ok, so basically, if I want the option to run dual cards, I need to go with ATI?

Yes, but IMO, it's not worth using SLI/Crossfire, as it seems like a big waste of money.

So then, if I want to run the ATI, that x1800xt would work well, otherwise the 7900GT for Nvidia. I think I might try the ATI and give them another chance. I wasn't to impressed with the Radeon 9550 setup very much.

X1800XT and 7900GT are about the same in performance view, those cards would work great on your mobo, however, people complain about how the ATI's cooling is alot louder than nVidias.

lol, a little more?!?!

I just spent $200 on the m/b & processor and now I have to get a video card because I have to use PCI-express. I can barely afford that, still working on the vid card, so that's to much.

well then dont go with the X1800XT go with the 7900GT it will probably be a much better card.
