I have a DI-524 wi-fi router right now, but its starting to fail on me. First off, do i need a Gigabit wi-fi router? My question about them is, if my PC has a Gigabit NIC, will it work when i connect to it a 10/100 port? I want my next one to be Wireless-N, 100-200 feet range, IP, MAC, URL, and Domain Filtering, SPI, VPN pass-through, custom Firmware, and it MUST have a On/Off power button. So, that rules out D-Link, right? Some help would be great.

Are you connected to a small network that you use often? That's really the only place where you would notice the gigabit connection, and all the devices need to have gigabit capability. Assuming you have a basic cable/dsl internet connection.

So, you're saying, with a gigabit wi-fi router, ONLY gigabit NICS can connect to a port on the switch? If so, then why do gigabit routers list the ports as "10/100/100." I thought that meant ANY of those NIC speeds will work with it, right?
