I havent go the parts yet but the CPU is in my sig what is to hot of a temp for it and what do they usualy run at for temp wise and ill be using the stock cooler but using arctic silver 5 instead of the thermal pad. the cpu is amd athlon 64 3800+ 2.4ghz socket am2

Well in the BIOS it says anywhere between 22 degrees C to 40 degrees C is that to high. Also what are some good temperature monitor programs to watch the temps of my CPU.

40C or below is what you want to be at, idealisticly. 45 is OK but warm, 50C is really pushing it and 55C is when it starts to become dangerous.

IIRC, those chips hit thermal shutdown at 65C. Naturally, you shouldn't run them that hot though.

Anything under 50C is generally considered acceptable, although some don't mind pushing it to 55C (after which it's generally considered too hot).

Your temps are fine.

Your temps are perfectly fine. My cpu stays normally around 45c, I guess I just got used to the temps, but thats because its 115 outside and its folding at 100% 24/7

Temp 1 if I am not mistaken.

Btw, do you have a front intake fan to blow air over your hdd? Hdd don't deal with temps to well. If you don't you might think about putting one it, my hdd is never over 32. I mean 38 is fine, but its just something to keep an eye on.

I do have a spot for one so i might just do that. The HD temp is at 45 is that to high for it.

Its high for my liking, don't know what the normal threshhold for hdd, is but a front intake fan it just good for you systems airflow anyway.

temp1 is the cpu temp. I know this because when i start up bf2 thats the one that jumps to a gay 53C not temp2.
