What would it entail

I have an old hard drive that I want to put in my computer (I'd have to buy a few adapters first, since my computer uses SATA cables and the hard drive uses IDE cables).

My question is, if I get the adapters, what all could I do with both of the Hard drives? Could I dual boot vista/xp or set one to master and the other to slave or what?

My other question is, what is the point of the whole master/slave thing? (In the mean time I guess I'll just do some research on my own).

Your computer ONLY has SATA? I don't think I've seen a mobo with no IDE... even the newest ones still have one... maybe I'm not up on the times.
 
idk maybe i didnt pay attention, ill check

anyways, adapters or w/e aside, what all could i do with two hdds (and whats the point of master/slave)

*edit* okay yeah it has IDE, but the i'd still need one of these
