What would you do?

Ok, so I'm trying to figure out what I should do here. There are a lot of sweet games coming out by the end of this year and I'm realizing that I should upgrade some of my hardware. But, specifically which hardware should I upgrade? I have a Xbox 360 with a 20 some inch tv and a computer which is about 4 years old with a 19-inch crt monitor. So I got some dough to spend and was wondering what I should do with it. Either buy a nice hd television, say 32 inch, for around $700, or build a new computer with a new lcd screen, probably 22 inch, costing around $900-$1000 , so this computer wouldn't be anything special but it would play most games on pretty good settings. BTW I don't want to spend more than $1000 (I'm only a high-school student and not made of money :P). So what would you do?

But simply to keep it unbiased, you have to take into the account that there are a few good exclusive games for the 360, games are often released earlier, and it doesnt need to be updated to play the latest games.

I think its almost more personal preference/choice. when i was in your position though, i did go with PC...

Can you surf the web on an Xbox 360 like you can with a PC?

Can you stay in contact with family and friends with an Xbox 360?

Can you upgrade an Xbox 360 like you can a computer?

Can you compile a music collection with an Xbox 360?

Can you work with digital photos with an Xbox 360?

Can you use an Xbox 360 for school work?

Will learning how to use, build and repair an Xbox 360 help you later in life?

There is about 3 reasons to buy a TV and an Xbox 360.......There is thousnds of reasons to buy a computer

Just a few questions I would ask myself.....good luck with your choice:)

1. He already has a PC, so he can surf either way, you don't need upgraded hardware for that.

2. Refer to 1.

3. Refer to 1.

4. Refer to 1.

5. Refer to 1.

6. It could, depending on were you start and end in your career path. In either case its fairly irrelevant though since you can learn either one or both no matter what he spends his money on.

I just don't see how your arguments mean anything, They point how how a PC might be better then an xbox 360, but I don't see how its relevant to his question because he already has both a pc(that can do everything thats listed) and he already has an xbox.

Personally, I enjoy PC gaming a lot more, I don't even own an xbox 360, or a PS3(although I would like them, I'm just not willing to spend the money on one right now)

If your 20 some tv isn't HD, I'd get a nice 24" monitor for your PC, then you can use it for your xbox and your PC, then spend the rest on PC hardware upgrades or on xbox or pc games. Just another option to consider.

If i'm someone who's only a game maniac , i would pick the Xbox , cause it quite a hassle free situation , buy a game , throw it in and play for hours upon hours . Also , because the 360 is getting most of the market , more games are going over there , RPG , FPS , RTS so on .

however , if i'm a gaming masochist ( which i am ) , upgrading pc would be my pick because i can get mods / themes / addons for it and completely mutalate the ori game , but of cuz , the pc would be best for FPS ( but i think a USB mouse works for 360 ) . But still tops for RTS . Also , a 19" for me is good enough , cuz any bigger and looking at top of the screen is neck-paining =P .

Overall , depends on what genre gamer you are , for RPG/Action - PS3(PS2 games work and tons of RPGs for PS2/PS3) . FPS -360 ( lots of FPS are on 360 ) . RTS/STG - PC (Best for simlation too ( go Spore ! ) . Lite gamer - Wii (I dun like the Wii >_<)

Hey i would go with the PC. The reason is that in future you will need faster PC anyways... So either if you dont upgrade it now you will definetly do it later ... Cuz xbox 360 like others said you dont need upgrade for it... i prefer the PC ...

i say get a nice 32" HD tv not only will it look great, it will impress the girls when they come over and see a nice tv in ur room :D

PC is worth it in the end. I've had a 360 for a while now and I find myself rarely playing it, so I'm trying to sell it to get a new rig :D
