What would you expect to pay for this laptop?

Clean install with all the software included.

* 512ram
* 1.6ghz
* 17" widescreen
* cdrw
* dvdr
* 3 usb
* serial
* rj45
* firewire
* pcmi
* 80GB hd

Also, I am not sure about laptop upgrade procedures. Will I have any trouble adding another 512 of RAM to it?
 
how old is the comp?
and what is the processor?

as for the RAM, as long as the comp supports dual channel and the RAM you are adding is the same as the one thats already in there, you should have no problem adding another 512MB
 
You really cant include software in the final price.

So basically your looking for a price for a 17" laptop with 512MB of RAM, 1.6Ghz processor, DVD Burner, and an 80GB hard drive.

But what kind of RAM is it, and most importantly, what type of processor is it?
 
I am not sure about the processor exactly, but it is probably whatever the 1.6ghz mobile AMD processor is. Also, not sure about the RAM details, but the computer was purchased about a year ago.
 
The reason we ask is because it could be a 1.6Ghz Core Duo, or it could be a 1.6Ghz Sempron, which makes a huge difference.
 
Well, let's just assume it is not a dual-core processor. I'll tell you what it is when I find out, but I am pretty sure it is whatever the standard single core AMD 1.6ghz processor was about a year ago.
 
well, if thats the case, i knew someone here was selling his/her C2D laptop for about $600... so based on that and assuming that your processor is single core, I would say about $300-$400 (just a rough guess) or maybe lower...

again without the full spec we cant really make an estimate...
