What would you guys say to this motherboard?

Seems a shame to submit a state-of-the-art processor to a relatively cheap board. It doesn't take much more to get a better one. Just an opinion. I've been using ASUS mainboards since 1991 and I'm a huge fan because they have all performed well and been perfectly reliable. I mean all. Thousands and thousands of them. Well designed and well made. I'm posting this on a system built around an ASUS 3A78 Pro and Phenom 9950. I've even been in their factory in Taiwan. Great company. Smart people.

Oh no, I 'm just glad to have an opinion. If I need to spend an extra $20-30 then so be it, it shouldn't be a huge problem. I was just curious :).

Ok, well can you guys link me some really great OCing motherboard from Newegg in a combo with a Phenom 940, preferably less than $350?

I would say to that motherboard if he feels like living in a dark metal shell he better get some better equipment.

Clearly.

Because I'm really going to get an AM2+/AM3 motherboard and somehow use my E6550 and DDR2 667 memory with it :P.

What was that suppost to mean?

Huh?

It was supposed to mean that it was one of the boards featured in an X4 940 review that I read, which means it's probably a very good board...

But I also want to keep my options open to other boards.

My focus is now shifting to waiting until February/March and getting an AM3 motherboard, X4 945 processor and DDR3 RAM.

Sorry I quoted the wrong post. I meant what SSMUFF post said.

Oh ok.

Yeah, I wondered that myself. I think he was implying that I should get better hardware (processor, RAM) if I planned on getting a new motherboard, to which I do agree.

However, the HD 4870 is VERY good.

id say nah..i really really dislike biostar..ive had so many problems with there motherboards ...please for your own good spend another 20 bucks get another brand or something..go asus...

Yeah, that's the majority of stuff I heard. I'll end up going for something like Asus or MSI in the end.

I'm now waiting for the 790FX/GX AM3 motherboards to be released with the X4 945s. That'll be a good day :D.
