What wrong in Intel E6600?

I have used many Intel processors but this pentium dual-core e6600 gives me problem. When i load the cpu usage at peak the system become failure and reboot. The cpu priority cannot be set to realtime in taskmanager. If I do so the system failure and reboot.

What are the other specifications of your system? Motherboard & PSU in particular. Also, by system failure, do you mean BSOD, freeze, or just reboot?

Is your CPU cooler actually pressing down on the CPU and cooling it sufficiently? I'd take it off, remove the thermal paste, then apply new paste and then put the CPU cooler back on making sure it's actually pressing down on the CPU.

No. I have tried this cpu in other motherboard such as Intel dg33fb and Gigabyte P31-DS3L. I also tried other heatsink but the problem persist. I have no idea what to do! I already updated the bios and drivers. The system freeze when the cpu priority is set the high.
My system spec:
Intel Pentium Dual-Core e6600 3.06 GHz
4GB RAM
80 GB HDD
MSI nVIDIA GTX 550Ti
460W PSU

PSU looks OK then, it may be a motherboard problem but you said you tried the CPU in some boards and you got the same problem. It's a long shot but have you got another 775 CPU you can use in your system?

i know it looks weird when cpu goes wrong. But Intel designed this faulty cpu. I have many Intel 775 cpu such as Intel Q6600, E7600, E8400 and E6550. All this works properly even my new i7 cpu also works great. I cannot use this cpu for encoding hd videos and high application.

I think you must've got a bad E6600, my grandad has an E6600 and it's fine for him. The E6600 isn't really a great CPU for encoding HD video, if you have a Q6600 or an E8400 then use one of those, they are much better CPUs for that kind of thing.

Today when i saw the processor I shocked. The processor has burned half of the region. I just bought 2 months ago. I really mad with INTEL being manufacturing failure processor. The cpu is still working but sometimes no display when switch on. I have press reset button to restore back. But this problem still persist. Now i want to send it back to Intel for warranty. The processor is made in Malaysia. The Costa Rica processors are quality than Malaysian made.

I had a E6800 that is still running fine in my sister's computer now.

Sounds just like a bad chip or something wrong with the motherboard or cooler. How long have you had it?

I have used this processor for 2 months. I have been used many Intel processors especially sc775. Even I tried this processor in other motherboard like Asus P5QL-PRO, GIGABYTE P31-DS3L, INTEL DG333FB, AND ASUS P5K-SE. So Intel should replaced this processor. Can I know where ur processor made. Here Malaysia manufacture processors are bad quality compared to Costa Rica.

Yep, I think it's probably more than likely that your CPU cooler was not actually pressing down on the CPU or you didn't apply thermal paste.

I used the Intel fan heatsink. I also monitor the temperature always. So there is no chance of overheating. I also apply thermal paste.

Now I have received my Intel E6600 cpu replaced by Intel. But my motherboard did not works properly with this cpu. When i reboot, there is no display. I tried Celeron CPU it works fine. My motherboard is INTEL DG33FB. I also already update my bios. I checked in Intel website the mobo is supported this cpu.
My system spec:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E6600
4GB RAM
160GB HDD
460W
LEADTEK GT220

Did you change your system specs (very hard to follow).

Your PSU is garbage and only has 20A on the 12V rail making it too weak really for any PCIe graphics card in my opinion.

You say you live in Malaysia? Have you had brown-outs or black outs recently with the flood activity? If so this can damage motherboards, RAM and CPUs quite easily. Again, a quality PSU would've protected you from that.

You need a new PSU regardless.

To determine what is wrong,

With the Celeron CPU installed;

  1. Test each RAM module individually using Memtest, or Windows' Tester
  2. Remove dust and grime
Report back.

Bro i think the mobo is not supported this cpu. How can u said the PSU is garbage. 460W is better enough. I have used 360W in other cpu it works fine.

Your PSU has 20A on the 12V rail. Insufficient for any computer with a PCIe graphics card really. Its also rubbish quality. You need a new PSU and this may have caused the damage.

Can you answer my question? Black / Brown out of electricity?

The mobo supports the CPU.

Test the RAM.
