What you think???

Only order from alienware. Besides it's 1/3 price, it does not show real pictures. BAD IDEA

edit: If it's $3000 new, and it is a computer that is a good gaming computer and new, you should expect to pay no less than $2500 for it...

Thanks, just really am liking the m15x. I want to get it soon and just trying to find the cheapest option.

Thanks I think I will end up configuring one on alienware. As soon as I return my xps 630. Do you think there is a noticable difference between the 8700m and the 8800m gtx

Yes. The 8800m gtx is a much better card. It is a LOT better, but I am happy with my 8700. If you can afford the 8800, get it, but I didn't.

One last thing and thanks for all your help. Is the Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme X9000 2.8GHz that much better than a 2.5 ect. Would it be better to go with the 8800gtx or the 2.8 extreme processor?

The 2.8ghz dual core processor is NOT worth it. Besides it's high price, almost all m15x owners have reported downclocking issues with it. I would get either the 2.5 or 2.6ghz processor if I were you.

You should bid on something like this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Alienware-A...hash=item220262322674&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318

It might go to about $1800

Whats this about?

Alienware has an Ebay account, and they sell their stuff, if you decided to go with the Ebay and Alienware method..

And remember, just because its expensive, doesn't mean it's better.

I meant only order from a legit ebay sale or alienware. Also, alienware's ebay site has laptops from around 2 years ago, or maybe a year. That is clearly not what the op wants. Alienware's official ebay is byfar the worst way to go because all of the laptops are almost out of date, and a good legit ebay sale would give you a much better computer, and a no risk option would be alienware.com. Look at alienware corp's ebay site, under 2.0ghz amd single core processors, a gig of ram, and not even a dvd burner..

And the op wants a notebook with looks and superior quality, not an alienware because they are "overpriced" as some would call them.

An Alienware with "Superior Quality", lol.

To the OP, don't be close minded, like some people, be open.

Let some other people post their opinions, then make an educated decision.

The extreme versions are well worth it - they have heaps of OC potential

Ive got an old Pentium 4 Extreme and its oced all the way to 4.2ghz

Yes, but you CANNOT overclock the 2.8ghz on alienware. The price of the 2.8ghz is almost double the 2.6ghz, and a $400 isn't worth 200mhz. The 2.6ghz is $525 more than the base processor, and the 2.8ghz is $900.
