yeah, what is it..
and how can i tell what card is what. which is the graphics card, which is the sound card, and what is the smaller card that fits on the highest slot. it only has one slot thing. and if i have like 3 identical slots, does it matter which slot the card fits in?

well because each computer is diffrent, I cant really tell you without seeing the computer
if you want to take a picture of the insides, I can tell you what each thing is.

no, not true at all. the BIOS runs as long as your computer is running. your OS uses the BIOS. the BIOS never hands over full control to anything.

Yeah, that's right. The BIOS is critical to the operation of your computer, actually. If you end up with a corrupted BIOS, for example, your computer is rendered unusable, unless you can reflash. It controls the clock speeds of your CPU, RAM; PCI Buses; determines the boot order of your disk drives; power saving options...etc.

yeah but isnt the CPU more like the "brain" part of the computer??

whatever.. Im done trying to compare a computer to a human :D

lol. I'm not sure what you're trying to do. The BIOS controls the hardware on your computer, basically. Without the BIOS, software, or an operating system, cannot function. There's another technology, currently used by Apple machines, known as EFI - Extensible Firmware Interface - that will likely replace the BIOS for Windows based machines.

there all over in the computer. some can be pulled out others are soldered in. its a little rectangle thing with these little metal tabs folded down. looks like a centipede.
