Whats a good cooling setup for me?

Hello, I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme. I was wondering of a cooling setup that will allow me to beat this cooler. It idles at 37c on my phenom 9950 overclocked to 3000. The cooling setup must be under $400.

Why don't you buy a 940 and over clock it with that cooler? You will get more bang for the buck. If you are not over heating than I wouldn't go with water cooling because the the watercooling will be worth more than the processor. IMO I think its better to spend it on the processor, then you have a better base to start your OC with.

Im only 15 and I already asked my parents for that, they said no to the processor and yes to the wter cooling, made no sense to me but thats what they wanted. They said that my computer makes too much noise and that I just got this computer so they argued "are you going to get something new everytime it comes out?" So im stuck with watercooling. Any other suggestions?

You'll want more than a single rad to cool that effectively.

To answer your parents question: Yes, absolutely :D

But yeah, at least a double rad and then get any of the pumps based around the Laing D5 - should be fine.

the problem with the rad is this:
Features:

Material: Aluminum + composite Aluminum
Tubing Size: 1/2"
Dimension (LxWxH): 280 x 184 x 71mm
Weight: 618 gram
Accessory: 2pcs ½" Springs Clamp, 2pcs 6-32x5 screws
Volume: 0.323L / 323 cc
Total surface area: Heat dissipation surface area
mix that with anything that contains copper, and your slowly screwing yourself over

will anti-corrosive completely stop this or will it still happen? And if i can get an aluminum heatsink what else wil be copper?

no, you cannot stop it completely, and the fittings will still be brass, as far as i know, they don't make straight aluminum blocks either, its just easier to go copper

Ok can anyone give me full list of products to get, and where would i fit a tri radior in the antec 1200 without heavy duty case modding? I was thinking of getting one single and one dual on outside, and the single one inside.. A radiator like http://www.dangerden.com/store/product.php?productid=205&cat=15&page=1 I will only be cooling cpu am2 fittings and 4870x2. Thanks for all your help guys! Also i heard the radiator i linked is pretty good. If you can find a better tri radiator please, post it! Also post a good dual and single rad also. Remember, has to be ubder $450 and beat a thermalright ultra 120 extreme. I would hope to be able to get past 3.5 ghz.

Why can't you go with a better air cooler? Watercooling a 37C processor on an overclock might be overkill. Air coolers are much simpler to set up and you would not have to worry about leaks. Have you looked at the Xigmatek coolers?

#1. I have the best air cooler on the market
#2. With the case cover on the cpu raises to 43C idle
#3. I want to overclock my processor farther to atleast 3.5

ek supreme $64
quad feser rad $160
liang ddc 3.2 $65
aftermarket top for said liang pump $25(neccessary if you want to use 1/2 inch fittings)
tubing $3.04/foot
fittings $2.50 each
reservoir $25
sli fitting(if you have the room, you can just connect the bottem of the reservoir to the pump top) $3.50
metal rad box(quad radiator just crushes the second revision) $8
yate loons(some of the better fans you can buy at this price point) $24 total $6/each
pt nuke(stops you loop from going funky) $2.50(one bottle will last you forever, just mix according to the label with distilled)
total: $362+shipping(roughly)
p.s. you could always add in a graphics card later with the quad, and if you think you're going to get feser one, and if it gets on any of your stuff that you'll be safe, that's all marketing, but if you want it for the color, thats fine

thanks buddy youre the best, but one problem, where the hell am i going to fit a qaud in the antec 1200? I guess i could try to have it run verticly across the back on one of the case fans, but it would look completely retarted but i guess ill try! And whats the best 4870x2 block i can get? and thanx again for all you help, you're really the only one who has ever helped me with this situation!

if im thinking correctly, you would mount it off the back of the twelve hundred so that its pointing up(hotdog way i guess?) it doesn't look that bad, its worth it for the temps, but as for blocks, its either ek(nickel plated ones look nice), aqua computer(german company, never really seen the 4870x2 block used), or xspc(people seem to have good luck with it). oh, and you can find these blocks on other sites like ncixus.com(i think) and performance-pcs.com
p.s. you can thank me by using hose clamps, and leak testing before you power everything up

heh have to move the comp from under my desk then and wow, you're quick at responding. Srry i feel really bad for asking another question but im completely terrible at this watercooling business, and this is my first real computer build, so what do you think about this cpu block, i see alot of other people use it http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=210 or http://www.swiftech.com/ the apogee this will be the last question i hope!

i wouldn't get the apogee, but the dtek v2 would be fine, the swiftech gtz on the other hand, though(ek supreme would probably net you some of the best temps)

i herd the rad im getting likes very low cfm fans, these fans seem to have moderate cfm, what low cfm fans do you have? (correct me if im wrong)

they perform better than something like a black ice or swiftech rad on low cfm fans, they'll preform even better on high cfm fans(the thermochill rads almost the same as feser, and the san ace's are 110cfm)
