Whats AMD & Ati gonna bring out?

Hey all,

Anyone have any idea what AMD & Ati are gonna be releasing for their next line of processors and DX10 Graphics cards?

Will they be better than Intels C2D and nVidias 8800?

As you guys know my system in siggy is ancient but i would like a new system,I dont know how long it will be before i could afford a new system but it probably wouldnt be anytime soon so hopefully whatever AMD and ATI do bring out will have gona down in price by then.
 
I believe whatever they come out with will be better than Intel and nVidia. ATI's already got the GDDR4 going on so it's only a matter of time until the pwning begins.

That's bull****. They hadn't even got a working card to benchmark ready by then, never mind start mass producing them.

In theory, the R600 will outperform the G80. But, it also depends on the drivers. If the drivers suck, so will the card. Due to be released end of April I think.

AMD are also releasing their Barcelona chips, sometime this year (Q3 probably). No benchmarks yet, so all we can do is wait and see when they're released to see if they're better or as good as the C2D/Quad.
 
Intel is doing mad crazy price cuts, so I think they're probably pretty nervous/anxious about the Barcelona chip line.
Or they know something we don't :]

What's the estimated price range on the R600?
I don't quite understand what the previously posted "800-70$" meant :p

Will Intel be dropping prices on single cores?

I only built my comptuer a little under a year ago, and I'm thinking of buidling a new comptuer (well, new mobo, ram, cpu, and possibly gpu) in April, with the C2D price cuts and the $180-8600 ultra. The only reason I might not upgrade is a) I'm not sure what AMD will roll out, either being cheaper and better than Intel, or causing Intel to cut prices further, or b) RAM and mobo prices might be too much still.
 
well I think were all hoping for better hardware, but it should be better according to moore's law, since it will be released afterward...

hardware always gets better, end of story, ur best buying the performance/price balanced items

comp in my sig cost 1030 canadian :) or 877$ us, which is a great value (minus the peripherals)
