Hi,

I don't understand what's happening with Internet Explorer 8.

When I log onto gmail, it tells me I'm using a web browser that will soon be unsupported and asks me to load a new browser and provides a link which I click.

This takes me to a page that tells me there is a newer version of IE8 and provides another link:

http://www.whatbrowser.org/

This link takes me to a page that tells me I'm using IE8 which is the latest browser for Windows XP (my operating system):

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/download-ie

I don't understand....is IE8 the latest for Windows XP (according to the last Windows website that I navigate to as above) or is it not (according to gmail)?

Regards,
Troy

Streuth, that was quick....

Thank you for the link....explained everything.

If I decided to use Chrome (or any other browser for that matter), any idea how I move my favourites over to it?

Regards,
Troy.

IE 10 won't be available for windows 7 until mid November. Usually when you install a new browser it will ask you if you want to import settings from your current browser.

Yeah mate, I'm installing Chrome as we speak.

After reading various threads on the subject, the general consensus seems to be that Chrome is the way to go. Everyone has their opinion of course, but my observation has been made after reading alot of posts and threads.

Thankyou for you help.

Troy.

another new south welshman? Awesome.
Chrome is a really good browser, I think you'll really notice the difference in speed.
